What raised-panel (Classic) cabinets are

A raised panel is a door where the center panel projects out from the surrounding frame instead of sitting flat inside it. That stepped profile catches light and shadow, which is what gives raised-panel kitchens their depth and that more formal, traditional feel. It is the look most people picture when they think of a classic, fine-furniture kitchen.

Classic is MNK Cabinet's raised-panel and inset collection. It uses a raised-bead profile — the panel is framed by a subtle decorative bead that softens the edge and adds a little extra character without tipping over into fussy or ornate. It reads as warm and traditional, but it is restrained enough to work in transitional kitchens too, not just formal ones. For the most furniture-grade look, Classic also offers true inset doors that sit flush within the frame.

Classic comes in six finishes: Classic Gray (cool and grounded), Classic Oatmeal (soft and warm), and Classic White (crisp and clean) for the framed doors, plus three inset options — Inset Oak, Inset Brown, and Inset White — for a fitted, fine-furniture feel. If none of those is quite right, Classic is one of 10 cabinet collections we carry, with 50+ door styles across the lineup.

Where raised-panel works best in metro Atlanta homes

Raised-panel suits established homes with some architectural detail — crown molding, arched doorways, decorative range hood surrounds, and the kind of formal layouts you see across a lot of metro Atlanta's traditional suburban builds, from Norcross and Peachtree Corners out along Peachtree Industrial Blvd and the GA-400 corridor. If your home leans traditional or transitional, a raised-panel door in warm Classic Oatmeal or Classic Gray plays to that style far better than an ultra-modern slab front.

It is also a smart move if you are updating a builder-grade kitchen from the 1990s or early 2000s. A lot of those homes already have honey-oak or maple raised-panel cabinets that have just gotten tired. Swapping to a crisp Classic White or a warm-wood Inset Oak keeps the traditional bones of the room while bringing it firmly up to date — and you get solid-wood doors and soft-close doors and drawers that the original builder-grade boxes never had.

Classic is just as at home in a bathroom. The same door style carries over to vanities and bathroom cabinets, so you can keep a kitchen and primary bath looking like they belong to the same house.

How Classic cabinets are built

On our core lines, Classic doors are solid wood, and drawers and doors come with soft-close so nothing slams. Our core lines use plywood boxes and dovetailed drawers — strength in the places that actually take daily wear over the years. That construction matters in Georgia, where summer heat and humidity swings are hard on cabinetry that was built down to a price.

You do not have to guess at how it all feels. Come by our Norcross showroom at 6679 Peachtree Industrial Blvd Suite i, just off Peachtree Corners Circle near I-285 and Peachtree Industrial Blvd — open the doors, test the soft-close, and compare the Classic finishes side by side under real light before you decide.

Carry Classic into the bath

Raised-panel doors carry visual weight, and one of the easiest ways to make a whole house feel considered is to run the same door style through more than one room. Classic works just as well on bathroom vanities as it does in the kitchen, so a primary bath can echo the kitchen instead of clashing with it. Classic White and Classic Oatmeal keep a small bath feeling light and open; Inset Oak or Inset Brown give a powder room a richer, more formal note. Tall Classic cabinets turn a bathroom into real, finished storage — linen and supply storage, a vanity base, and uppers that hide the clutter. We can lay the Classic finishes side by side in our Norcross showroom so you can see how the kitchen and bath will read together under real light before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Shaker has a flat center panel set inside a clean five-piece frame, which reads simple and versatile. Raised-panel — our Classic collection — has a center panel that projects out from the frame, with a decorative bead detail, giving it more depth and a more formal, traditional feel. Shaker leans transitional and modern-farmhouse; raised-panel leans classic and fine-furniture.

Classic comes in six finishes: Classic Gray, Classic Oatmeal, and Classic White for the framed doors, plus three inset options — Inset Oak, Inset Brown, and Inset White — for an even more furniture-grade, fitted look. Classic is one of 10 collections we carry, with 50+ door styles across the full lineup, so if Classic is not quite the look you want, there is plenty more to compare in our Norcross showroom.

Cabinet price depends on your layout size, the door style you choose, the wood and materials, the finish, and any add-ons like soft-close, organizers, or installation. Because we are factory-direct, you skip the middleman markup. Raised-panel and inset doors like our Classic collection sit a little above the simplest flat and Shaker doors, but the exact number depends on your kitchen. Estimates are free and itemized, so you get an exact breakdown rather than a guess.

Both. Ready-to-assemble (RTA) kits are available if you want to assemble and install yourself or with your own contractor, and we deliver across Georgia. If you would rather we handle it, we also offer free design, assembly, delivery, and installation across metro Atlanta. Typical turnaround is about one to three weeks.
